F.E.E.R. Emergency Alert System

On September 9, 2026 F.E.E.R. cast over 2,000 leaflets and mobilization orders over the Venice Art Biennale and the Venice International Film Festival. The leaflets contained Emergency Alert #1 in English and Italian. 

The action was run in the first seconds of a performance of Florentina Holzinger’s Seaworld Venice at the Austrian Pavilion, where a F.E.E.R. public service alarm was sounded, and during the international premiere of Dau. The leafleteers were then detained by police, and remaining leaflets confiscated. 

In its description for Seaworld Venice, the Austrian pavilion states: ‘With an (eco)system out of control, rituals are deemed necessary to restore order…’ In 2027, a solar geoengineering firm called Stardust Solutions plans to demonstrate its stratospheric aerosol injection apparatus–a dangerous backstop against warming that would block incoming sunlight to Earth–to secure government contracts by 2028 and to issue an initial public offering by 2030. Seaworld Venice is set to be re-installed in 2027 in Berlin and 2028 in New York City.

Dau, awarded the Silver Lion for Best Direction, required twenty years to produce, on what was described as ‘the movie set that ate itself.’ In these two decades, the amount of excess solar heat trapped on Earth by greenhouse gases has nearly tripled.

Current levels of warming are high enough to send the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and the Greenland Ice Sheet into an irreversible collapse trajectory. Once the collapse of these two ice sheets completes, sea levels will have risen by 12 meters, permanently sinking Venice 11 meters underwater. 

In its criteria for Venice’s ‘Outstanding Universal Value,’ UNESCO states that ‘Venice symbolizes the people’s victorious struggle against the elements as they managed to master a hostile nature. The city is also directly and tangibly associated with the history of humankind.’

On July 19, 2026, the American Museum of Natural History hosted a live screening of the FIFA World Cup Final broadcast for the general public in its Rose Center for Earth and Space, a branch of the museum dedicated to the cosmos and the history of planet Earth. 

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, sponsored by Saudi Aramco, produced the highest climate impact in the tournament’s history, at almost double its historical average in emissions. This jump in pollution was attributed to the sum of teams, their families, and their fans traveling long distances by air to attend matches staged by FIFA across sixteen cities throughout the North American continent.

At the museum’s Earth and Space hall, the live broadcast was well-attended, with visitors of all ages, including a large share of children, closely and anxiously tracking the progress of the final match. 

Members of F.E.E.R. Collapsible A were posted at the Heilbrunn Cosmic Pathway, a coil-shaped ramp lofted above the audience. The walkway follows a permanent exhibition on the 13 billion year history of the universe, the formation of Earth, and the emergence of terrestrial life. 

After the broadcast declared the final score, F.E.E.R. released 200 leaflets from the balcony over the crowd. Some visitors filmed the flying sheets, and many mistook them for celebratory confetti. The majority of the leaflets were picked up, most enthusiastically by children. F.E.E.R. Alert #1 was printed on them. 

Members of the unit were also in the crowd, playing an emergency alarm sound through speakers, but it was inaudible through the cheering of the crowd.

In March of 2025, Cadillac (a property of General Motors) sponsored a performance titled DOOM: House of Hope at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. The manufacturer stocked the Armory with 26 Cadillac Escalades.

The internal combustion Escalade model dominated the hall in which the dance and theater piece was staged. A small share of electric exemplars were stored in the recesses of the showroom. Positioned on the gasoline-burning merchandise, a cast of young models and actors were hired to chant: we’re doomed, we’re fucked, we’re dead.

On the night of the March 12 performance at 9:00PM, a woman from the audience shackled herself to the exhaust pipe of one of the Cadillacs with a lock and chain. The woman wore a T-shirt reading

NEVER COLLABORATE, SAVE LIFE

on one side, and

FUCK GENERAL MOTORS

on the other. Members of the audience assembled around her body. The Park Avenue Armory summoned the police, and the woman was escorted out of the showroom.

In May of 2025, General Motors began to lobby against emissions standards. An internal email to its salaried employees stated that ‘emissions standards that are not aligned with market realities pose a serious threat to our business…’

On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, General Motors abandoned its pledge for an all-electric Cadillac fleet. Its CEO announced: ‘Starting next spring and continuing into 2028, we will begin launching the next generation of Cadillac ICE [internal combustion engine] vehicles.’

On March 11, 2025, at 11:04PM, the author of the March 12 protest action had written,

I’ve been ambivalent about the protest, but then realized this project is in part intended as a testing of the temperature by GM. Half of the 26 cars in the performance are gasoline powered. They want to see if they can get away with it.

At 9:51PM of March 12, she wrote:

I did the protest. I was playing chicken with myself and saw it as a test of courage.

1. Global warming is outpacing government projections. At present, the level of heating lies somewhere between +1.4 and +1.7ºC.
2. +2ºC is considered the point of no return: irreversible tipping points escape human control, killing one billion people.
3. +3ºC warming, at present the most likely scenario, threatens to kill 4 billion people this century.
4. Once the major features of Earth – including the AMOC, the Amazon, and the ice caps – collapse, they cannot be rebuilt by human means.

THE POINT OF NO RETURN IS CLOSER THAN IT APPEARS

The following is now either locked-in or projected and can only be partially mitigated with immediate attention and fundamental, emergency shifts in policy and protocol:

• The Amazon rainforest is currently in the middle of a tipping point, turning from a carbon sink to a carbon source.
• As of 2025, the level of ocean heating is too high for the world’s coral reefs to survive.
• The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) is approaching collapse. A shutdown would scramble planetary weather patterns and eliminate 50% of arable land.

THE BLACKOUT POLICY

As the point of no return approaches, governments are impeding the collection and release of vital information. At the commanding heights of the state and industry, reports and memoranda circulate to which the public has no access.

• On October 2, 2025, the UK’s intelligence bodies cancelled the publication of their ecological collapse report, on the grounds that it was ‘too negative.’ 
• On June 24, 2025, the U.S. Government deleted climate.gov, its public climate website serving a million monthly visitors, and defunded the agency that measures and reports planetary greenhouse gases and temperature changes. 
• In 2024, the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence began removing the phrase ‘climate change’ from its annual threat assessment.
• Since 2008, ODNI has refused to declassify a report titled National Security Implications of Global Climate Change to 2030.

Large media organizations have derelicted their duty to properly inform the public on updates in scientists’ understanding of the emergency. And in 2023, major industry began to annul its climate pledges.

THE FRONT

Since the Front is only the border between acceptance and denial of these facts, anyone can join or abandon it. The Front traverses every person, organization, family and country. Earth scientists report daily at the Front. Disasters and temperature extremes force their victims here. In 2018, four million protesters presented themselves at the international Front; most have since abandoned it. But today the Front for Earth Emergency Recognition, or F.E.E.R., claims hundreds of millions of isolated members, yet to breach the climate ghettos and reorganize into permanent units.

F.E.E.R. COLLAPSIBLE A

On June 6, 2026, a unit of F.E.E.R. reconstituted as Collapsible A and initiated the emergency alert program. This program is a public service to mitigate the official blackout and restore conditions for public realism. Its mission is to fulfill the universal right to know, and withdraw the right to deny.
